As of September 1, 2006, the following are the official rules and regulations of the Christmas Spirit Pageant.
1. Contestants must compete in the correct age division for their age. Contestants under the age of 18 years must have their parent's or legal guardian's permission to compete in the Christmas Spirit Pageant.
2. Contestants agree to submit all competition materials and entry fees by the pageant deadline or risk being scored a zero in the areas where the items are missing. Contestants failing to pay their entry fee in full by the pageant deadline will be disqualified from the competition and will forfeit any money already received by the pageant office.
3. Contestants understand that the pageant reserves the right to amend its timeline for deadline for entry, period of judging and/or announcement of winners as it deems fit. Refunds will only be given if the pageant is cancelled.
4. Contestants understand that the pageant reserves the right to substitute those awards and prizes listed on this site with others of equal quality or value without prior warning or notice to contestants. The pageant reserves the right to refuse delivery of prizes to any contestant who has not completed the appropriate pageant paperwork. The pageant will ship prizes via US Postal Service Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. This is to safeguard the pageant from false claims of non-delivery.
5. Contestants understand that the pageant reserves the right to hold in secret the identities of the official panel of judges until after the winners have been announced. Contestants understand and agree that their pictures, essay and interview will not be put on the website until the pageant deadline. This ensures the privacy of each contestant.
6. Contestants understand and agree that if they win their age division they cannot enter the Christmas Spirit Pageant again for one year or until they qualify for a different age division.
7. Contestants understand that they must submit the appropriate materials for competition. Contestants also agree to follow the guidelines set for each competition and understand that failure to do so will result in point deduction. Contestants understand that there is a word limit in the interview and essay competitions and failure to stay within the limit will result in a 2 point deduction for every 10 words over the set limit.
8. Contestants understand that they must submit the online application. Absolutely no essays or interviews will be accepted that are mailed to the pageant office. Contestants understand that the application must be completed in full and that their entry fee is due within
10 days of submitting their application. No incomplete applications will be accepted!
9. Contestants understand that if they win their age division or the overall ambassador title they must submit a biography and at least one crown and banner photo for the website.
